2011 Tour News

July 11, 2011

We had a awesome turnout at Ben Hur Speedway with some of the best
racing you would ever see. If was a very late night with mother
nature giving us 2-3 inches of rain the morning of the race. We
fought it out and finally got all of the racing in. Congratulations
to all of the feature winners!!!

We had to make a change in our schedule due to Bi-State Speedway
deciding to cancel their scheduled race with us. We have had to Move
the Lake Village race up to the July date and we are currently looking
for a track to replace out September date. I will get this announced
very soon.

The scheduled race at Lake Village on July 16th will have a few
changes. First the start times are going to be moved up to the
following.

Gates Open 10:00 AM
Practice 2:00 PM
Drivers Meeting 3:45 PM
Racing will begin at 4:30 PM

Also please note that we are going to be running all heat races single
file. I will continue to try to start all feature races double file
with only 1 attempt at a green flag start. If we can not get it in
then we will go single file after the first attempt. A note for the
outside pole sitter. DO NOT sit back on the start of the race to
intentionally cause a single file start. The race director will be
watching all races and if he determines that you did this you will be
put in the 3rd position for the single file start.

Lets all use our heads at Lake Village and have the show runs as fast
as possible. If we use our heads on the track no one will get hurt
and maybe we can get done before the sun rises!! :)

Well the first race of the 2011 season is in the books and despite having an 80% chance of rain we had 159 entries at Kankakee Speedway.  Mother Nature was very nice to us and gave us a little rain in the morning but then gave us the hot sun the rest of the day.

We had some of the best racing I have ever seen before with some of the classes going to sure be fun to watch and see who we will crown the 2011 champion at the end of the year.  There was some of the closest racing you would ever see.

I wanted to thank everyone for coming out and making the trip and taking the chance against mother nature.

I can’t wait for Ben Hur on June 19th.  You are not going to want to miss this one!!
