Burris Thundertour Rules

  1. You must be a member to race an event. The membership fee is $50.00 first class and $25 each additional class per driver for the entire series. With this membership fee you will get one FREE event t-shirt along with the ability to purchase 4 sets of Burris 33 or 55 compound tires at a cost of $205.00 per set. Along with this you will be able to purchase 4 sets of Douglas Q+ wheels for $108.00 Silver and $118.00 black.
  2. If you choose to compete only at one event and choose not to become a member their will be a $25.00 per class fee added to your entry fee. This money will be put into the racers fund and paid at the end of the year. You then are not eligible for the special tire buys or any points.
  3. Only Burris 33 and 55 compound tires can be used.
  4. The tires that you start your first heat race on will have to be used all night. These tires will be marked and must remain on kart for all heats and feature. If you have a tire that needs to be replaced you MUST contact an official of the Burris Thundertour prior to changing this tire.
  5. The Series will consist of 6 races. Each driver will be allowed 1 drop race and 1 driver replacement.
  6. WKA or IKF Flatheads and Animal engines will be allowed. You must declare at tech.
  7. Please review each of the tracks rules. We will be following the rules of the track, so make yourself familiar with the tracks rules. Some could be different.
  8. All heat races will be 10 laps and features will be 20 laps. (This could change at certain events with specials being announced)
  9. Must run methanol fuel (subject to tech at any time)
  10. ALL karts must go through safety inspection at each track.
  11. No fuel or oil additives allowed (subject to tech at any time)
  12. Tire prepping will be subjective to track rules
  13. No offensive language
  14. NO Fighting. ANYONE involved in a fight will lose all of their points and will be banned from the rest of the series. They also will not receive any refunds of any membership dues and you will not be eligible for payouts at the end of the year’s banquet.
  15. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
  16. Entry Fee’s will be $40.00 per class. 50% will be paid at the race and 50% will be put into the racers fund for end of year payout.
  17. All sponsorship money that is received will be paid out as follows. 50% of sponsorship money will be paid at event and 50% will be put in racers fund for end of year payout.
